4vets Urinary Non-struvite Veterinary Diet is a complete dietary food for dogs with urinary tract disorders. It supports the healing process of bladder inflammation and struvite stones thanks to the reduced content of magnesium, proteins and acidification of urine. Diet can be part of prophylaxis once the condition has resolved. It has a low sodium and potassium content, which has a positive effect on kidney function and accelerates the dissolution of persistent stones.

Recommendations:

Before administering the diet, it is recommended to contact the veterinarian to determine the dose. The diet is recommended for 5 to 12 weeks to dissolve struvite stones and up to 6 months to reduce their re-formation. Your dog should have constant access to fresh water to drink.

Values:

High-quality proteins - the feed is based on sources of complete animal proteins with a low fat content. The addition of hen's egg increases the limiting factor of amino acids to a level that guarantees the correct ratio in the use of all amino acids. A limited supply of high-quality proteins covers the body's need for amino acids, but does not lead to excessive catabolism and the formation of products that could impair kidney function.

Omega-3 and Omega-6 fatty acids - obtained from raw materials of animal origin (salmon oil) and linseed oil, ensure the maximum participation of polyunsaturated fatty acids from the Omega-3 and Omega-6 group in the biochemical control of the formation of pro-inflammatory cytokines and through the specific inhibition of cyclooxygenase activity (COX-2) exhibit analgesic properties.

Low content of sodium and potassium - in the Urinary Non-Struvite veterinary diet, the composition of raw materials was chosen so that the diet has a low content of sodium and potassium, which reduces the osmotic pressure of electrolytes. This has a beneficial effect on kidney function and accelerates the dissolution of persistent struvite stones.

Cranberry - contained hippuric acid has a bacteriostatic effect; in addition, the proanthocyanidin present by binding to the bacterial fimbriae inactivates the adhesins, thereby preventing their adhesion to the epithelial cells of the urinary tract. Cranberries effectively lower the pH of urine, which leads to less bacterial growth in the bladder and urinary tract. Thanks to these properties, it supports the treatment of infections and recurrent chronic urinary tract infections in dogs.

Dried brewer's yeast (source of prebiotics: mannanooligosaccharides and β-glucans) - has a beneficial effect on the intestinal bacterial flora. Yeast has a high biological value due to the high content of group B vitamins. The use of yeast in the nutrition of young dogs is particularly important because it stimulates a wide range of immune reactions.

Mojave yucca - the presence of this ingredient stimulates digestive functions, the absorption of nutrients from the digestive tract and stimulates its peristalsis. When added to the diet, it results in a reduction in the production of intestinal gases and the intensity of stool odor. In addition, saponins from Mojave yucca show antibacterial activity that suppresses protozoan infections originating in the intestines, and polyphenols have an anti-inflammatory effect.

Psyllium seeds (Plantago psyllium L.) - combine the properties of highly soluble fiber with low fermentability in the small intestine and have a positive effect on improving intestinal peristalsis. In addition, they have properties to bind water and form a gel, thereby normalizing the passage of digestive contents.
